In 1700, Bridget Daniel Graffort gave the town land for a "highway" from Market Square east to the river which was named Graffort's Lane. Renamed Daniel Street by 1813. Became Daniels Street for 50 years for Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy under Woodrow Wilson. |
