Summary |
Located at the corner of Daniel and Chapel Sts. The building was originally built and opened in 1916 as a home and recreation center for enlisted men in the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps. From the 1980's to ca. 2012 it was primarily used as a community center. Due to Safety codes, much of the building became unusable and in Aug. 2012 the Portsmouth City Council voted to sell the building. Expanded and renovated by Hampshire Development Corporation it is now used as residential condominiums and first floor commercial businesses.
