Details |
Town gave permission in 1731 to a number of persons to build a bridge over the cove, an inlet that used to flow west frim the river, through the field in the middle of Strawbery Banke, to Pleasant St. During high tide, it sometimes flowed to the South Mill Pond. Originally called Swing Bridge. Name changed in 1766. |
