The Daniel Street building was built in 1917 as an office base for army and navy personnel from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. It was known as the Army & Navy Building. In 1992 it was renamed for the longtime head of Parks and Recreation Connie Bean. The building has been converted into condos. A new Connie Bean Center is part of an annext at Portsmouth Junior High on Parrott Avenue. |
