ALS to a person named Warren concerning Porter's efforts to clear his name after the court-martial (1862-1863) held for actions during the 2nd Battle of Bull Run (for which he was cleared). He indicates that the present administration and the Republican Party will never do anything for him and that he is supported by U.S. Grant but not by Chester A. Arthur.
