Eight Wendell family coffin plates. Seven have been identified, while one is tin fragments. Plates are in various conditions; some are well preserved, while others are very fragile. All are made of various kinds of metal. .1 was for John Samuel Wendell. .2 was for Susan Gardner Wendell, daughter of Abraham Wendell. .3 was for Gardner McHaver Wendell. .4 was for Dorothy Sherburne Wendell, daughter of John S. Wendell. .5 was for Martha J. Perkins Wendell, wife of John Samuel Wendell. .6 was for Sukey G. Wendell, wife of Abraham Wendell. .7 was for Elizabeth Wendell Berry, wife of John Wendell. .8 is unidentifiable. .8 is in pieces. |

These coffin plates came from the Wendell tomb in the Pleasant Street Cemetery. The plates were removed while work was being done on the tomb. .8 might have been Abraham Wendell's plate. |
