Part of Isles of Shoals Collection transferred from Portsmouth Public Library in 1995. Translation of text:" [The] always-seeing eye of Zeus Morios now watches, and bright-eyed Athena." Sophocles, "Oedipus at Colonus" line 705, in a choral song about the olive tree. There are a couple of errors in the Greek lettering. |
