Provenance |
Descended in family of sitter. Theodore Sheafe was the son of Jacob and Mary Quincy Sheafe. He died unmarried. The painting was owned by his sister, Ann Huske Sheafe Coffin. The painting was in the Benning Wentworth House and can be seen in photos taken in the 1870s. |
