This painting hung in the Wentworth-Coolidge House during the Cushing ownership; descended in the Cushing/Rose family until it was presented to the Athenaeum. This is a pair to C08.544. Attribution to Chester Harding based on portrait of Samuel Cushman which has Harding on the frame. Harding was in Portsmouth 1849. |
