Carey children at Creek Farm, Portsmouth, NH. John, Henry, Bill and Alida. The Carey family summered at Creek Farm, Portsmouth, NH, along the shores of Sagamore Creek. They were part of the summer colony of wealthy artists and intellectuals that was active in the area in the late nineteenth century. They were friends with the Coolidge family who owned the Wentworth Coolidge Mansion. |
