Title |
Thomas Haven House |
Description |
Copy photograph of the Thomas Haven House, which once stood on the corner of Richards Avenue and Middle Street, Portsmouth, NH. The house was demolished for the construction of the Sinclair Mansion. From "The Seacoast New Hampshire: A Visual History" by Robert C. Gilmore and Bruce E. Ingmire, the photograph was incorrectly identified as the Colcord House on Pleasant Street. The caption is as follows: "The Colcord House, which was built on the same site as Daniel Fowle's first printing office, later demolished. Today yet another house sits on the same site and is owned by the Mark H. Wentworth Home across Pleasant Street. Courtesy of Strawbery Banke, Inc." Educational research purposes only. Image is believed to be from Strawbery Banke Museum, and any request for reproduction must be handled through that institution. |
