Description |
View of 90 Mast Street, Portsmouth, NH. Owner-occupied by Emma C. Pecunies (widow of John T. Pecunies), the property was identified as Parcel A-8-5 by the Portsmouth Housing Authority's South End Urban Redevelopment Project. According to the property, the house was a "very nice little cottage" that was well maintained, and the owner claimed spending $1,500 on the grounds, which the report indicates are now overgrown. Listed items include roses, fruit trees and evergreens with a 4' x 4' rose arbor over the front door. Full report submitted by Reginald P. Kennard on September 28, 1955. The building was demolished. Today, the land remains open within the bounds of Strawbery Banke Museum. An unidentified young assistant (possibly Kennard's son Reginald Jr.) stands on the right. Copy image of P0010_064 and comes from the contact sheet P0010_090. Image and report (see link) from MS080 Portsmouth Housing Authority manuscript collection. |
