Group photograph of a banquet dinner believed to be part of the Glidden Tours that stopped at Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel, New Castle, NH. Identified in the front row from left to right are Mary C. Dondero, James B. Smith and Charles Dale. All other individuals are unidentified. Glidden Tours was a revived touring group of antique cars that came through the Seacoast in 1947 and then again in 1954 and 1958. Given that Dondero is wearing a different outfit than other similar photos dated to the 1940s, this photograph was most likely taken in the 1950s, probably 1954. |
