Margaret Howell Bacon (1895-1978). She married 1. Henry R. Carey in 1921, 2. C. Podget Hodson of London, 1934. As the widow of Rex Carey she managed Creek Farm from 1932-1958. The Carey family summered at Creek Farm, Portsmouth, NH, along the shores of Sagamore Creek. They were part of the summer colony of wealthy artists and intellectuals that was active in the area in the late nineteenth century. |
