Concetta Ghighliotti LaMarca (6/14/1882-1955) from Castelbuono, Palermo, Italy, and her husband Giacomo LaMarca (4/15/1869-4/1940) from Villa Rosa, Sicily, Italy. She came to the US from Sicily all by herself as a young woman. They met and married here and had seven children. Giacomo was a gardener/farmer who ran a farm in Kittery, Maine. He often brought his fresh vegetables to sell in the North End, Portsmouth, and visited all the Italian-American neighbors at the same time. When they were older, they lived at 94 Russell Street, Portsmouth, NH. |
