A circa 1815 Federal style rowblock, historically known as the Matthew Marsh House and occupied by the Matthew Marsh House bar and restaurant at 214 State Street, Portsmouth, NH. Image and report (see link) from the Historic District Survey, 1982-1983, by the Portsmouth Advocates, Inc. According to the report, this was "once owned by Matthew Marsh, prominent Federal period merchant in Portsmouth, the building also served as the parsonage for the Episcopal Chapel, a Greek Revival building which was located to the right (i.e. west) on State Street." |
