View of a commercial lot occupied by the Taccetta Chevrolet dealership at 69 Albany (listed here as 588 Islington Street), Portsmouth, NH. The dealership later moved to Woodbury Avenue in Newington, NH. Image and report (see link) by Ralph S. Foster Co., Inc., as part of the original Sales Study (Original) for the Acquisition Appraisal for the Vaughan Street Project, Portsmouth Urban Renewal, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Each sale was selected for "the purpose of assisting in the determination of land value within the area of the taking." According to the report (Land Sale #11), Pearl Beemand & Guy C. Trueman sold the property to Vincent Taccetta on July 19, 1962. Taccetta was the owner of the auto dealership. On the typescript report under the comments section is the following: "Property purchased for land. Old building demol. Area pred. commercial. Mix. of old and new. Trend towards comm. dev. Lot at grade & level. Fringe commercial." |
