View of a duplex at 88 Green Street in the North End, Portsmouth, NH. Image and report (see link) by Ralph S. Foster Co., Inc., as part of the original Sales Study (Original) for the Acquisition Appraisal for the Vaughan Street Project, Portsmouth Urban Renewal, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Each sale was selected for "the purpose of assisting in the determination of land value within the area of the taking." According to the report (Land & Building Sale #19), Gertrude & Gaylord St. John sold the property to Roy & Pauline White on April 16, 1962. On the typescript report under the comments section is the following: "Congested area near railroad tracks and junk yard. House in fair to poor condition at time of sale. Multi-family residential units in area." This residence was demolished during the urban renewal project. |
