An 1846 Richardsonian Romanesque style brick school house known as the Haven School converted to condominiums at 50 South School Street, Portsmouth, NH. Image and report (see link) from the Historic District Survey, 1982-1983, by the Portsmouth Advocates, Inc. According to the report, the school house was remodeled in 1895 by architect Henry S. Paul with Byron Dame as contractor and carpenter's work, Charles H. Holmes with labor, George A. Trafton with iron work, and A. B. Trefethen as the contractor of mason work. School converted into condos in 1980. |
