View of veterans of the Civil War standing in front of the Masonic Temple on the corner of Middle Street and Miller Avenue, Portsmouth, NH. The photograph appeared in the Boston Sunday Globe on June 11, 1922, and the headline was "Ages of 14 Civil War Veterans, Members of Storer Post. G. A. R., of Portsmouth, NH, Aggregate 1108 Years." The caption identified all of the men with their age at time of photograph. From left to right, the men were the following: (front row) John W. Leavitt, 78; John W. Amazeen, 79; Joseph W.
