Summary |
Located at 361 Hanover St. on the south side of the North Mill Pond, the location was originally the Portsmouth Steam Factory (built c. 1850). The company was reorganized in 1866 as the Kearsarge MIlls. A fire in 1880 devastated the building and in the 1890s the location was the site of the Portsmouth Machine Co. In more recent times it was the location of Heinemann Publishing. |
