This broadside, reproduced in facsimile by kind permission of The Essex Institute, Salem, Massachusetts, from the unique original in its collections, is the earliest of the American Naval recruiting posters known to exist. It helped to draw the men who under John Paul Jones captured H.M.S. Drake and harassed British shipping in 1778. |
