Summary |
Started in the home of William Loyne, a missionary, on Hill Street. Incorporated on July 7, 1877 and moved to the Jenness House at 16 Deer St. (later renumbered to 63 Deer St.) where it remained until the 1940s. Moved to a new facility built on Marginal Road (127 Parrott Ave.) on the South Mill Pond. Closed in 1989 because of loss of funds due to theft. Remaining residents were eventually moved to the Mark H. Wentworth home. Items in the multimedia link may not represent everything in the vertical file. |
