28 Chestnut Street, corner of Chestnut and Porter. Built 1877. Architect: William A. Ashe. In 1715 the site was retained by the town for a prison. In 1803 it was the site of Elias Smith's new Baptist Meeting House. Known for 24 years as The Civic Theatre. |
