Built after 1744, enlarged after 1774. Originally built by Michael Whidden II. In 1771 the estate was purchased by George Boyd who sought refuge in England and died in 1787 on board a ship headed back to Portsmouth. Dramatically expanded after 1774 for George Raynes, shipbuilder. Demolished c1940. |
