S1547 - Bill of lading for St. John's Church baptismal font, 1759
Bill of lading for the baptismal font at St. John's Church. Dated July 18, 1759. Letter addressed to Daniel Pearce [Peirce] of Piscataqua from Gidney Clarke of Barbados, states that the font comes "from John Tufton Mason Esq., Governor of Senegal, a Font being a present from him to the Church at Piscataqua." The font was shipped on the sloop Bonadventure.
