From his obituary: He was very active in the Portsmouth community, having served on the Foundation for Seacoast Health as president and treasurer; the Portsmouth Hospital as incorporator, trustee and treasurer; The Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce in the positions of director, vice president and member; was a director and later president of the United Way from 1972 - 1975; was appointed by former Senator Warren Rudman in 1983 to the Military Service Academy Selection Board, where he served many years; was an honorary squadron commander at Pease Air Force Base from 1980 - 1990; active in the Seacoast Military Affairs Council as a member, chairman and secretary; Portsmouth Lions Club director, president and member; and was an honorary member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club |
