Account book kept by Jane Brewster Boyd from 1774 to 1797. The first part is a diary (1774) for a sea voyage to London on the ship Felicity mastered by Capt. Henry Nutter, mentioning weather and icebergs; memorandum of goods imported from London on the brig Kitty; and accounts (1791-1798) including entries for the sale of corn, potatoes, sewing supplies, and cloth. Names cited include: Daniel Davis, painter, Abner Blazdell, mason, and Thomas Moulton, blacksmith. The second part is an account book kept primarily by Jane Brewster Boyd, wife of Colonel George Boyd who died in 1787. After he died, Jane Boyd and two sons carried on the family business. |
