Letter from John Langdon in Philadelphia at the Constitutional Convention to Nicholas Gilman in Boston, June 28, 1795. Reports to Gilman that no determination on the Jay Treaty of Amity, Commerece and Navigation between the U.S. and Britain has been agreed upon yet, but hopes that it will be finished in the coming week. He believes he will not agree to the whole. "Secrecy must be observed," he advises. Letter from John Langdon in Portsmouth to Joseph Varnum in Dracut, October 30, 1805. Wishes Varnum could have visited him in Portsmouth and rejoices with him in the progress of Republican Principles. Says he will "particularly attend to your recommendation of Mr. Benjamin Barker of Pelham." Wishes Varnum a pleasant journey to Washington, D.C. |
