Three-page letter written by [Richard] Skinner for John Skinner & Sons in Boston to William Hale in Portsmouth, December 1, 1793. Skinner advises Hale on what he'd like done to the ship [which was beached at one time] in terms of its repair - and orders him "have what you have done in a neat manner & with good materials." he will be in Portsmouth himself in about eight days, by which time he hopes to find the ship ready to sail. "Will thank you to pay particualr attention to the quality of the pot & pearl ashes you purchase for me as huge quantitys has come from P. to Boston branded first sort which has been condmd." Includes transcription. |
