Interior view of the shoemakers at the Portsmouth Shoe Company, Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH. The Portsmouth Shoe Company was organized in March of 1898 and specialized in making shoes for women and children. The shoe factory was auctioned off in May of 1930 and later demolished. The lot is now occupied by a Dunkin Donuts and a bank/office building. |
