From Church Street looking at the two houses on Porter Street (32 Porter on far right and 26 Porter on the corner of Church) that were removed for the Comfort Station, Portsmouth, NH. The address of 26 Porter is believed to be the house of Pomp and Candace (Wentworth) Spring. A former slave, Pomp opened a bakery on the property. He died in 1807. The Comfort Station opened in 1948, but has since been demolished.
