S0857 - Letter to Elizabeth Spalding

Letter dated to Elizabeth Spalding from an unknown author writing during a visit to Savannah, Georgia. Letter appears to be signed "Anna Eizabeth" however it is possibly written by Alfred Spalding, brother of Elizabeth who was a ship captain. Letter includes description of sailing from Kittery to Georgia and mentions Frying Pan Shoals in North Carolina, passing a wreck schooner ("bottom up her stern seemed to be nearly gone"), and ships from Boston loaded with cotton.
