Parents Michael Ferrelli and Concetta Ferrelli with daughter Assunta (Ferelli) Federico and son Cesidia (Joseph) Ferelli. Portsmouth, NH. Scanned image. Original photo was returned to owner. **According to city directories, a Michael Ferrella first appears in the directory as a laborer in 1910; in 1914, Michael Ferrella was a grocer at 204 Vaughn and lived at 27 Deer St.; in 1918, Michael Ferrelli was a grocer and resident at 200 Deer Street. The Ferrellis would raise six children. Between Michael and Concetta is their eldest child, Assunta, who was born in 1902 in Italy. Before marriage, Assunta (Ferrelli) Federico worked as a shoemaker. In 1933, already a young widow, Assunta died of an embolism at the age of 30. Pictured is the baby, Joseph, who would become a soldier during WWII and later work as a master welder in the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. |
